TASTETEST #1 Cheese Ramyeon


You’re probably thinking WHATDAMUFFINS!? Cheese Ramyeon!? Weird but yea! I was in Korea last year and they had this on the menu and i simply had to give it a go. One of the most unlikely marriages but the merger worked beautifully. The picture below show the bowl i ate in Korea. The one above is my Singapore rendition of it.

Really simple to try! Just grab a pack of Kimchi Ramyeon from any super market, prepare it like how you’d do it for any other maggie mee brand, then crack in an egg, and just before you turn of the heat, add two slices of cheddar cheese on top.

You’d be really surprise how the cheese is able to take this simple affair of eating instant noodles to a whole new level. Once melted, the cheese infuses into the spicy soup, and converts the soup into a creamy and rich one. No skill required! And yet you feel as though you’re eating something that took a lot of effort to prepare.

I have no idea who came up with this whacky idea. It’s like a combination of Korean and American cuisine. This is one of those peanut butter and jelly kind of moments. Eureka!
