I’ve only been to The Soup Spoon twice and I think it’s a good place to go if you’re not looking for something heavy to eat. But of course, if you are intending to fill yourself up, you can easily opt for your soup served in a bread bowl.
The Soup Spoon boasts a wide variety of soups, ranging from clear soups to the creamy ones. What’s great about this place is that they also offer new soups every three weeks if you’re a regular that’s already bored with the standard ones on the menu. For me, I decided to go for the Morrocon Beef Tagine, a stew filled with chunks of tender beef, carrots , chickpeas and couscous. Of course, there’s a whole lot of other spices that go into it, and you get a feeling you’re drinking curry. But then again it’s a stew so I should have expected a thicker consistency.
Go for the Souper Value meal if you’re a big eater. You can choose from a range of side dishes that include salads or sandwiches. The meal comes with a drink too. I chose the Herbed Chicken Caesar Sandwich which came with a salad of Romaine lettuce, onions and carrots. It’s a rather refreshing side, coz the flavours aren’t as strong as the ones in the soup, but simple yet tasty. I kept switching between the soup and the sandwich to balance out the flavours.
